Whiteside Mountain is a tourist hike, but after a week of sub-freezing temperatures, the family needed a short, sunny hike. The loop trail is located in southern Jackson County and is a National Recreation Trail.
The dome-like gneiss provides scenic views of north Georgia and South Carolina that are tremendous.
Total mileage is 2.5 miles.
