As we raise children, so often we save and show things to instruct them: a favorite book, a movie that changed us, a song that moved us. We hope to impart some of knowledge to them, have them grow with wisdom.
How important it is to save trails for our children as well. Plan a favorite hike for them. Have them explore the woods with us, letting them feel the freedom of the trees, the wind, the joy of spying a spring flower.
As I further my adventures of hiking the trails of the Pisgah Ranger District, I save trails just for my family and I. Moore Cove Trail was such a place. Short, only .7 miles, easy terrain, creeks, punctuated by a large waterfall.
Total mileage is 1.4 miles.
