When I started sweetwilder.com, my purpose was to chronicle my hiking adventures for my children and to inspire others to hike. It was an added bonus that WNC Magazine approached me for several pictures from my blog for an article about North Carolina’s Fire Towers.
The first picture was from a nearly 16 mile hike in the Smoky’s via Low Gap Trail to Lower Mount Cammerer Trail. The second picture used was from a neat, short hike with the family off the Blue Ridge Parkway to Fryingpan Tower. The views from Fryingpan provided unrivaled views of Cold Mountain and Shining Rock Wilderness.
Thanks for following along with my journey and it is my hope that this site inspires you to get outside and explore.

Congrats on the local/regional interest in your photos, Jonathan.

Well deserved, my friend. These towers deserve to be preserved. Your work helps to create the urgency…
